If you run a promotional product company, manage a branded merchandise programme, or operate a custom apparel business anywhere in the United States, you already know that the quality of your embroidery starts long before the machine runs. It starts with the digitizing file.

A poorly digitized file causes thread breaks on the production floor, puckering on finished garments, misaligned logos on expensive stock, and revision requests from clients that eat into your margin. A well-digitized file runs cleanly, looks sharp, and gives your machine operator nothing to worry about.

At PlixaLabs, we provide professional embroidery digitizing services to businesses across the USA. Every file is hand-crafted by an experienced digitiser — no automated software, no shortcuts. We study your design, your fabric type, and your machine requirements before a single stitch path is mapped. The result is a production-ready file that runs right the first time.

Most US orders are delivered within 2 to 12 hours. Pricing starts at $10 per design. Every order includes unlimited free revisions. There is no minimum order quantity and no subscription required. Place your first order today and receive your digitized file before your next US working day begins.

What We Check on Every File

What Separates a Professional File
from a Bad One

Most US businesses only discover they have a bad digitizing file after wasted fabric, broken needles, and a missed production deadline. Here is what every professional file must get right.

01
Stitch Density
Too high and your fabric puckers and distorts. Too low and your design looks thin, transparent, and unprofessional. We calculate the correct density for your specific fabric weight, thread specification, and design type. A logo digitized for a cotton polo needs completely different density settings than the same logo going on a fleece jacket or a structured cap.
02
Underlay Stitching
The underlay is the foundation layer of stitches applied before the top design stitches. It stabilises the fabric, prevents sinking into loop-heavy surfaces like terry cloth and fleece, and ensures the finished design sits proud and clean. Cheap digitizing skips proper underlay. Our digitisers plan underlay as carefully as the top stitching.
03
Push-Pull Compensation
During stitching, fabric stretches and compresses under the pressure of the needle and thread. This distorts the finished design relative to what it looked like on screen. We compensate for push-pull mathematically in every file so that the design looks correct after stitching — not just in the digital preview.
04
Stitch Sequencing
The order in which colours and elements are stitched affects both the quality of the finished design and the efficiency of production. Good sequencing minimises jump stitches, reduces thread changes, keeps machine downtime low, and prevents later stitches from distorting earlier elements. Poor sequencing is invisible until production slows down and quality drops.
05
Tie-In and Tie-Off Stitches
These are tiny locking stitches placed at the beginning and end of each element. They prevent thread from unravelling during production and after washing. Missing tie-offs are the single most common reason budget digitizing fails after the first laundry cycle. Every PlixaLabs file includes proper tie-ins and tie-offs on every element, every time.
06
Quality Check Before Delivery
Before any file is delivered, a second digitiser reviews the completed stitch file for density errors, missing underlay, sequencing issues, and tie-off problems. This secondary check is standard on every order — not just complex designs. It is why our files arrive production-ready rather than requiring floor adjustments.
Our Approach

Manual Digitizing vs
Automated Tools

There are two ways to digitize an embroidery design. One involves a piece of software that automatically converts your image into stitches using an algorithm. The other involves a human expert who studies your design, understands the fabric, and manually maps every stitch path by hand.

Automated tools are fast and cheap. They are also the reason most digitizing complaints exist. At PlixaLabs, every design is manually digitized — no exceptions. This takes slightly longer. The result is a file that runs cleanly on the first hoop, requires zero floor adjustments, and holds up through hundreds of production runs.

Automated Tools
  • Does not understand fabric behaviour
  • No push-pull compensation
  • Generic stitch paths for all fabrics
  • Thread breaks on the production floor
  • Puckering on stretchy or loop fabrics
  • Blurry small text and fine detail
  • Requires machine-floor adjustment
PlixaLabs Manual
  • Fabric-specific density calculation
  • Mathematical push-pull compensation
  • Stitch paths planned for your machine
  • Runs cleanly on the first hoop
  • Stable on fleece, terry, and cap fabrics
  • Sharp small text and fine detail
  • Production-ready out of the box

100% Hand-Crafted Files
We never use auto-digitizing software. This is not a marketing claim. It is how we operate on every single order.

Our Services

Everything Your US Business Needs

From simple logo digitizing to complex 3D puff and jacket back designs — we cover every embroidery application used across the US promotional products and apparel markets.

🏷️
Logo Digitizing
Convert your company logo into a precise, production-ready embroidery file. Whether it is a simple wordmark, a detailed crest, or a complex multi-colour graphic, we build the stitch file to perform consistently across high-volume production runs. Our most requested service from US promotional product companies and branded merchandise suppliers.
From $10 per design
🧢
Cap Digitizing
Cap digitizing is a specialist discipline. The curved surface of a structured cap creates stitch registration challenges that flat embroidery does not. Our cap specialists sequence every design from front to back and adjust compensation settings for the specific cap construction — structured, unstructured, snapback, or fitted — so the design sits centred and stitches clean.
From $12 per design
🎯
3D Puff Embroidery
3D puff uses foam underlay beneath the top stitches to create a bold raised effect — the premium finishing technique for headwear across the US promotional products and streetwear markets. Our specialists select the correct foam thickness and stitch density and adjust settings to ensure the foam is fully covered and the edges are clean.
From $15 per design
🧥
Jacket Back Digitizing
Large area jacket back designs require the most careful stitch planning of any embroidery type. The design spans a large area of fabric that shifts during hooping, requires heavy underlay, and must be sequenced to prevent distortion as the design builds up. Our specialists map every zone individually and test the running order before delivery.
From $18 per design
🔶
Patch Digitizing
Embroidered patches require specific file construction depending on their edge treatment — merrowed, laser-cut, or heat seal. Border stitches must be dense and precise. Fill stitches must sit correctly within tight boundaries. We digitize patches for military, law enforcement, sports, and promotional markets with the correct density for each edge type.
From $12 per design
🎨
Applique Digitizing
Applique uses fabric pieces combined with embroidery stitching for large-area coverage at significantly lower stitch counts than full fill embroidery. We digitize the placement stitch, the tack-down stitch, and the border stitch precisely so that your applique fabric pieces align perfectly on every production run without gaps or overlaps.
From $12 per design

Getting Started

How to Get the Best Results
from Your Order

Sending us your design is straightforward. Here is how to prepare your artwork and brief to get the cleanest, fastest result every time.

🖼️
Send vector artwork where possible
AI, EPS, or SVG files give us clean, scalable outlines to work from. If you only have a raster image — JPG, PNG, or PDF — send the highest resolution version available. We work with whatever you can provide, but vector artwork produces the cleanest starting point.
👕
Specify your fabric type
A design digitized for a standard woven cotton polo behaves completely differently on a fleece pullover, a structured cap, a terry cloth towel, or a thin silk blouse. Always tell us what fabric your design is being stitched onto. If stitching the same design onto multiple fabric types, tell us and we produce a separate optimised file for each.
📐
Tell us your finished size
Specify the exact dimensions you need — width and height in inches or millimetres. We digitize to your target size, not a generic size that gets scaled later. Scaling a digitizing file after production changes the stitch count and can affect density and quality in unpredictable ways.
🖥️
Tell us your machine brand and model
We deliver the correct native file format for your specific machine. If you are using multiple machines from different brands, tell us all of them and we will include multiple format versions at no extra charge. If you are unsure which format you need, just tell us the brand name and model number.
🎨
Tell us your thread colours
If you have specific Madeira, Isacord, Robison-Anton, or Gunold thread colour codes, include them in your brief. We will map the design to your exact thread palette. If you do not have specific thread codes, describe the colours and we will make appropriate recommendations from our thread library.
Specify if you need rush delivery
Tell us your exact deadline in the order brief and select the Rush or Super Rush option. We confirm receipt and your guaranteed delivery time before starting work. For critical production deadlines, contact us directly at info@plixalabs.com before placing your order so we can confirm availability.

Never. Every design at PlixaLabs is manually digitized by an experienced human digitiser. We do not use automated conversion tools at any stage. Manual digitizing produces stitch paths that account for fabric behaviour, push-pull compensation, underlay requirements, and stitch sequencing in a way that automated tools cannot replicate. The result is files that run cleanly on the first hoop — every time.

Yes. Every order includes unlimited free revisions with no time limit. There are no hidden charges for adjustments, density changes, resizing, or format changes. We accept all common artwork formats including JPG, PNG, PDF, AI, EPS, SVG, and even hand-drawn sketches photographed at high resolution. Vector formats — AI, EPS, and SVG — produce the cleanest starting point, but we work successfully with raster images every day. For raster images, send the highest resolution version available. A 300 DPI or higher image at the actual intended embroidery size gives us the best foundation for a clean result.
