Why the industry changes the stitch file.
A stitch file is a set of decisions: how dense the stitches are, what underlay sits beneath them, how much each shape is compensated for fabric pull, and how every thread end is locked. Those decisions depend on what the design is sewn onto and what happens to the garment afterwards.
Lightweight hi-vis polyester needs lighter density, or the fabric puckers and the reflective panels distort. Healthcare tunics go through industrial laundry, so tie-offs have to survive high wash temperatures. Team jerseys stretch, so the stitching must flex with them. School crests and small lettering need detail planned to stay readable at small sizes.
